Developing tools at the Institute
The Max Planck Institute of Animal Behavior provides access to the cutting-edge technology, next generation tools, and world-class animal facilities required to make major advances in the study of behavior. MPI-AB’s tech environment includes core experimental facilities for virtual reality and ultra-high resolution animal tracking, and space-based animal observation. It also includes a team of staff scientists who work with researchers across MPI-AB to apply technological and analytical tools ranging from advanced imaging to the latest techniques from deep learning. Our data and code is shared openly, with a range of freely-available quantitative tools to power the study of animal behavior.
