Sustainability Group at the MPIAB
At the Max Planck Institute for Animal Behavior we promote and help implement sustainable measures to become a more sustainable institute in both science and everyday life.
What we do
We aim to implement measures in accordance with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in six major fields. These encompass energy use (e.g., reducing energy use and using cleaner sources of energy); mobility (e.g., sustainable commuting practices); waste management (e.g., reducing waste and sustainable procurement of supplies); biodiversity preservation and food consumption (e.g., sustainable catering options); sustainable architectural solutions for new building(s); and assessment of the impact of implementing these measures.
Are you aware of an unsustainable issue at the institute or outside that you think should be addressed? Send us an email or join our meetings (see calendar below)! Collectively, we will find a solution!
