Main Focus

My current work involves monitoring wild populations of birds (Paridae) in the Radolfzell area, as well as supporting method development for behavioral experiments with Passerines and Parrots. I use multiple techniques including mist netting, bird banding and nest boxes. I also design and develop automated methods like puzzle boxes, RFID feeders and backpack-based tracking systems using barcodes and microphones.

I also have a background in Tropical Ecology and Conservation, and I am currently working on movement ecology and habitat use of birds, specifically urban cockatoos in Sydney, Australia, and high-altitude colonies of oilbirds in Colombia and Venezuela.
