Requirements for the housing of wild birds in animal experiments – what rules do we have and where do they come from?

Although the law on animal testing requires that wild animals used in animal testing be housed in a manner appropriate to the species and the animal, it does not provide any specific guidelines. There are a number of guidelines for this, some of which also have the character of a law. How are such guidelines developed, where can they be found and, above all, what do they say? The lecture will focus on the situation for birds and mammals. It can be certified as internal training in the sense of the animal testing law. Das Tierversuchsrecht schreibt zwar eine art- und tiergerechte Unterbringung von Wildtieren vor, die in Tierversuchen eingesetzt werden, macht aber keine konkreten Vorgaben. Dazu gibt es eine Reihe von eigenen Richtlinien, die tweilweise auch den Charakter eines Gesetzes haben. Wie kommen solche Richtlinien zustande, wo sind sind sie zu finden und vor allem: was steht drin? Der Vortrag wird sich auf die Situation bei Vögeln und Säugetieren konzentrieren. Er kann als interne Fortbildung im Sinne des Tierversuchsrechtes bescheinigt werden.
